Eco-Vessel 25 oz. Aqua-Vessel Water Bottle – Review
This is the one of several posts contributed by my wife. We hope for this to become a regular segment on MyLifeOutdoors. A valuable resource to women (and their husbands) who love the outdoors (or who, at least, wish to love the outdoors). This is My Wife Outdoors.I pretty much have a water bottle obsession. There, that’s out in the open and I feel tons better. I drink a ridiculous amount of water and like to keep a bottle on
Chaos CTR Adrenaline Multi-Tasker Pro Balaclava – Review
I have a beard. Mostly because I think I look stupid without it, but also because it is a natural insulator. If my wife would let me, I would grow it out more until it was a little thicker. As it is now, its not much against cold and wind. There are days when its just not enough and I need something more substantial to keep my face and neck warm.Chaos CTR Adrenaline Multi-Tasker Pro BalaclavaOn days like that you
Injinji Socks Review
This is the one of several posts contributed by my wife. We hope for this to become a regular segment on MyLifeOutdoors. A valuable resource to women (and their husbands) who love the outdoors (or who, at least, wish to love the outdoors). Hillsound Trail Crampon and Trail Crampon Pro – Review
Its getting cold and snow is beginning to cover the trails. Most casual hikers have stored their boots away for warmer seasons. If you find yourself in this latter group you know the importance of good traction on icy and snowy trails.v The options are endless. It seems like everyone has some form of light crampon available for winter hikes. Hillsound, however, is a company
RikSak by Gossamer Gear – Review
I was planning a 4 night backpacking trip in the Pecos Wilderness when some friends and I began talking about summit packs. Since camp would already be set up, there was no need to take a huge pack with me to the summit. Many years ago I did and overnight trip with a friend to Guadalupe Peak. When we got ready
Purificup Water Filter Review – Spring into Adventure Gear Giveaway Backcountry Week
The last time I backpacked in Texas I had to carry 24 pounds of water on my back. This is in addition to the other necessities I needed for the weekend, bringing my pack to a back breaking 50+ pounds. This is due to the astonishing lack of natural water sources on my favorite Texas trails. So when I get an opportunity to backpack along a trail with natural water sources
Glacier Glove – The Perfect Curve Glove – Review and Giveaway
A week or so ago the kind folks over at Glacier Glove sent me a couple of pairs of the Perfect Curve Gloves to review. These gloves are designed for cold water kayaking, fishing, and similar sports. I took the gloves with me on a trip to south central Texas to one of the only rivers in the state that is flowing right now to see how the gloves would do. The gloves are made from 2 mm Yamamoto Neoprene,
K2 Charger Skis – Review
Recently I had the opportunity to ski on the new for 2011 K2 charger skis. I spent 3 days at ski Purgatory skiing in a variety of conditions and I believe I got a good feel for these amazing skis. The Chargers I used measure in at 174 CM long, with tip, waist, and tail measuring 122-74-106. This season rocker is all the rage and all of K2’s new AMP series (including the Charger) has some degree of rocker.
